Agnes Andrews Gick, 90, of Fowler, passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 20, 2022, surrounded by family at home. She was born December 28, 1931 in Montgomery County, Indiana to the late Edward Leonard and Lois (Meharry) Andrews. She attended Jackson Township school and graduated as her class valedictorian in 1949. She then worked as a bookkeeper at Alprodec, Inc, West Lafayette and Lammers Electric, Lafayette.
On December 28, 1957, she married Bernard Isaac Gick from Benton County at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Fowler, Indiana where they raised their family, settled into family farming, and she continued her bookkeeping assisting with the daily operations on the farm.
She was active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Anne’s Society, past chairman of Circle 3, Chairman of Funeral Dinners, and Sacred Heart School Playground monitor. She was also a member of Tri Kappa and a volunteer for the Red Cross blood drive.
Agnes was her family’s and preferred sports teams, biggest cheerleader. She rarely missed her grandchildren & great-grandchild’s activities. Her role as a wife, mother and grandmother was her top priority. She was also an avid gardener, kept the home and farmyards in check and the cookie jar full for her grandkids, and Bernie.
She is survived by her three children, David Gick, Lafayette, IN, Alan (Jennifer) Gick, Fowler, IN and Lianne (Bill) Haynes, Carmel, IN, grandchildren, Ashley (Mark) Corns, Attica, IN, Brittney Gick, Bryan, TX, Christopher Gick, Fowler, IN and Jacob Haynes, Carmel, IN, great-grandson, Riley Corns, Attica, IN, sister, Virginia Leavitt, California, brothers, Edward Leonard, Jr.(Fran), Indiana, Dr. Richard Andrews, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Bernard and brother Donald Andrews.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10am to noon, Friday, May 27, 2022. A funeral Mass immediately following visitation, officiated by Fr. Peter Vanderkolk. Interment after at Sacred Heart Cemetery and lunch at Sacred Heart School.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benton Community Foundation, Sacred Heart School or Jackson Township Community Center, 8200 W 1050 S, West Point, IN 47992.
