Charles Edwin Hollingsworth

October 28, 1952 — November 1, 2023

Goodland

Charles Edwin Hollingsworth, 71, passed away peacefully November 1, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side.

Born October 28th, 1952, to James and Mary Hollingsworth, Chuck lived his rambunctious young life in Goodland, IN with his six siblings Bill, Steve, Jeff, Mary Lou, Teresea, and Kathy.

He met his high school sweetheart Donna at South Newton High School and were married June 4th, 1977, at St. Joseph Church in Goodland, Indiana. In his younger years, he worked at a car dealership detailing cars and even saved up money to buy Donna her first car. His career path led him to real estate where he spent 45 years in that industry as an agent and later as a self-employed broker. Chuck and Donna moved from Goodland to Kentland in 1987 and Chuck opened Hollingsworth Real Estate in 1990. Chuck became a father for the first time in 1979 with Keith Hollingsworth, and then again in 1990 with Curtis (CJ) Hollingsworth. He was always very proud of both of his kids and was happy to share stories about them. He became a grandfather in 2009 with his first grandson Logan Hollingsworth and then again in 2012 with his second grandson Parker Hollingsworth. He always enjoyed spending all the time he could with those boys. In 2016 Chuck and Donna moved to West Lafayette which allowed him plenty of time to fish in the pond in their back yard and go “lumbering” at Menards, Lowes, and Home Depot to get ideas for his next project he was going to do. He found so much joy in helping others in real estate, grant writing for local elderly people to help get improvements to their homes, or ultimately where he got much of his fulfillment, which was helping and supporting his family.

Chuck was strong willed, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you felt it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love. He will be missed dearly and if you had any conversation with him as of late, he would always say “Keep smiling”.

Chuck is survived by his wife Donna Hollingsworth, sons Keith Hollingsworth (wife Casey Hollingsworth), Curtis (CJ) Hollingsworth, his two grandsons Logan Hollingsworth, Parker Hollingsworth, and his siblings Bill Hollingsworth, Steve Hollingsworth, Jeff Hollingsworth (wife Joyce Hollingsworth), Mary Lou Stinson, Teresea Hollingsworth, and Kathy Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Edwin, and Mary Ellen Hollingsworth
