Cynthia Aline Gretencord, 67, of Fowler, IN (born November 21, 1956) returned to her home in heaven and was reunited with her beloved mother on March 20, 2024 after a long battle with frontotemporal dementia. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Roger, her three children Blaine, Derek, and Ashley, their spouses Jennifer, Kelsey, and Kyle, her seven beloved grandchildren, Tielyr, Brody, Tatumn, Tucker, Eleanor, Macklan, and Adalynn, and her six siblings, Patrick, Michele, Susan, Thomas, Teresa, and Christopher.
Cynthia was well known and well loved within the community. She was a familiar face at the post office where she worked for 30 years. She was a lover of reading, the Fowler swimming pool, gardening, McDonalds sweet tea, and her family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren for whom she would have done anything. She spent the majority of her latest years doing exactly that.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Franciscan Hospice Care, with a particular acknowledgment to Bob, for the excellent care and support over recent months.
Cynthia was passionate about children learning the joy of reading. In lieu of gifts, the family has requested memorials be sent to Sacred Heart School or to the Alzheimer’s Association, which is focused on broad dementia research.
Visitation will be held 9-11am (EST) until the hour Funeral Mass at 11am Monday, March 25, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Sean Aaron officiating. Procession will follow to Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery for interment.
