Donald "Henry" Gregg Schwartz

Donald “Henry” Gregg Schwartz, 73, of Fowler, born to the late Donald R. and Irene (Benner) Schwartz passed away peacefully at home after a long struggle with cancer, October 11, 2024.

He was born in Lafayette on October 7, 1951 and graduated from Benton Central HS in 1969 then went on to marry Cheryl D. Claire on July 11, 1995.

 After graduation he worked as a mechanic at Lamie’s Service station. And then he drove trucks for Bear Budreau and Scott Hood. He also had S&S Repair Shop for several years.

He was a great mechanic and helped his family with any auto repairs that were needed with a great heart.

 He was involved in Sacred Heart church as a counter and offering collector. He was a member of the Catholic Men’s Organization.

He loved his family, trucks and cars. Enjoyed star gazing with the kids. Liked to cook breakfast and grill out. Loved gardening and mushroom hunting.

 He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Claire) Schwartz and children, Jannah Schwartz, Jason Schwartz, Angel (Jason) Snapp, Amy (Doug) Redington and Richard (Angie) Claire, grandchildren, Kiyanna, Charlie, Arlina, Wyatt, Alyssa, Adi, Dominic, Tyler, Tanner, great-grandson James and Sister, Jane (Hank) Nickles.

He is preceded in death by his son, Kyle Patrick Schwartz and brother, Doug Schwartz.

 Visitation will be held Wednesday October 16, 2024 at the funeral home from 5-7pm (EST). Funeral Mass will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Earl Park at 11am (EST) on Thursday October 17, 2024 with Fr. Sean Aaron officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Fowler, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Sacred Heart School.
