Helen Lucile (Van Laere) Criswell

Helen Lucile Criswell, 92, formerly of Fowler, died May 3, 2022. Helen was born the daughter of the late, Pete & Delia Mae Van Laere on December 17, 1929 in Williamsport, IN. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler and was a retired executive secretary. She enjoyed cats, card games, bingo. She was an avid traveler and also enjoyed her teams: Purdue, Cubs, Colts and the Bears.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Criswell, her parents, sister, Florence Howard and brother, Donald Van Laere. She is survived by nephews, Jim & John Howard, 10 great-nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-nieces as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Gerts, Windler & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Fowler Chapel on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 11am-1pm. Liturgy of the Word will follow in the chapel with procession to Riverview Cemetery in Monticello immediately after. Memorials may be made to the Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center.
