Jim is a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125 in Otterbein, IN. He loved golf only behind his family and his faith. He played golf every day the weather was fit and many that it wasn’t. One highlight of his golfing career was his hole-in-one on the 13th hole at the Ravines Golf Course on May 31, 2018. Jim’s other favorite past time was watching his granddaughters in whatever event they were participating. For over 40 years, Jim enjoyed building and repairing golf clubs.
Jim graduated from Benton Central High School in 1970 and enlisted in the Air Force. After an honorable discharge in 1973, he worked for C&D Battery in Brookston and Attica, IN. When A.E. Staley opened a plant in Lafayette, Jim became one of the original employees. He retired from the same facility which had been purchased by Tate & Lyle. In retirement, Jim played even more golf, and especially enjoyed the winters with Karen and all of their friends in Lake Ashton, FL.
