Joyce "Sandy" Lorraine Leburg

Joyce “Sandy” Lorraine Leburg, 90, of Fowler passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Ft. Wayne IN.

She was born December 4, 1933 in Hayward, Wisconsin to Adolph and Hazel (Erickson) Sandstrom.

Raised in Hayward, she graduated from Hayward High School in 1951. She then attended Minneapolis Business College.

She met the love of her life Bill Leburg in an elevator at the Chicago Conrad Hilton Hotel in September 1958, was engaged at Christmas 1958 and married February 14, 1959 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She then moved to Fowler where they raised their family. Bill preceded her in death in November 2021. She was a member of the Fowler United Methodist church serving on many committees and the Omicron chapter of Tri Kappa.

Joyce is survived by daughter Kim of Ft. Wayne and son David also of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren Nathan (Alishya), Steven (Tina), Katie, Mitchell and Allison; great-grandson Oscar William.

She was preceded in death by her son Michael William and her sister Beverly Wickland.

Visitation will be Thursday September, 19 from 9-11am (EST) at The Fowler United Methodist Church, 908 East 12th Street, Fowler. Funeral service to follow at 11am with Pastor Mary Van Wijk officiating. Interment will be at the Fowler Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Fowler UMC Missions , Omicron chapter of Tri Kappa Fowler or the Benton Community Foundation.
