Kay June (Cooper) Torres

Kay June (Cooper) Torres, age 88, of Goodland, Indiana passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025 at home with her family by her side. She was born on June 20, 1936 and raised in Brook, Indiana, married in Foresman, IN and moved to New Jersey after marriage to Emilio Torres of New York City, New York on June 4, 1957. There she raised their 3 children before returning to school to start her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She moved “back home again” to Goodland, Indiana in 2021 with her daughter, son-in-law, and her youngest grandson.

Surviving is her daughter, Naomi Schwab (husband, Michael Schwab) and her 4 grandchildren, Charles E Schwab, Richard J Rauch, William F Rauch, and Timothy E Rauch from daughter Debra (deceased) and James Rauch of Brook Indiana; sisters-in-law, Avalynne Cooper of Brook, Indiana and Norma Cooper of North Fort Myers, Florida.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert L and Mary “Esther” (Sage) Cooper, son, Eugene Emilio Torres, daughter Debra Lynn Rauch, seven siblings, Gerald Cooper (wife, Gladys), Floyd Cooper (wife, Carol Jean), Robert Cooper (wife, Martha), Roy Cooper, Richard Cooper, and sisters Joann (husband, Ronald) Peacock and Mary “Joyce” (husband, James) Sharp.

Visitation will be held from 10AM-12PM (CST) until the funeral hour at 12 (PM) at the funeral home with Gary Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Brook. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Alzheimer’s Association.
