Lillian E. (Gramman) Bennett, 90, formerly of Earl Park and resident of Indiana Veterans Home of Lafayette, passed away at 5:10 a.m., May 25, 2024 at Franciscan Health, Lafayette.
She was born August 18, 1933, in Benton County, to the late Michael and Clara (Fledderman) Gramman. She was one of 13 children and graduate from Fowler School. She married Murl C. “Moe” Bennett February 5, 1953 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
She was the Co-Owner of Bennett’s Garage-Phillip 66 a devoted Firefighter’s wife for 60 years. Charter Member and Past President of the Earl Park American Legion Auxiliary Post #455 for 69 years. Past President of the Earl Park Centennial Queen Contest in 1972. Member of St. John the Baptist Church, Earl Park and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fowler, until recent failing health. She enjoyed visiting with her family, traveling, and sewing.
She is survived by children, Daniel Bennett of Earl Park, Michael Bennett of Kokomo, Judith Wetli (late husband, Charles) of Earl Park, and Patricia Suiter (husband, Thomas) of Earl Park, sister, Anita Schemensky (husband, Jim) of Channahon IL, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, 6 brothers, 5 sisters, son, Charles Bennett, and son-in-law, Charles Wetli.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (EST) at St. John the Baptist Church, Earl Park, IN until Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Sean Aaron officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Earl Park IN.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Earl Park American Legion Auxiliary Post #455 Scholarship Fund, PO Box 152 Earl Park IN 47942.
