Louie Mae (Wilson) Mayhew

Louie Mae (Wilson) Mayhew, 93, of Brook, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Rensselaer, Indiana.

Louie was born May 1, 1929 in Lansing, Michigan and raised by the late Cora Wilson of Sheldon, Illinois.

Louie was a farmer’s wife and served alongside her husband, Marvin, as the Jefferson Township Trustee in Kentland, Indiana for 31 years. She also served her community as a home child care giver. Louie was a loving wife, caring mother, and wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Along with creating memories and sharing stories with her loved ones, she enjoyed birdwatching, camping, making crafts, and completing word search puzzles.

Louie is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Lee (Chuck) Danruther of Brook, IN and Connie Jo Weishaar of Delphi, IN; four grandchildren, Heather (Shawn) Yokas, Brandi (Micah) Carey, Michael (Tab) Weishaar, and Blake (Katie) Weishaar; seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Alyssa Yokas, Connor Carey, Landon, Ben, Lainey, and Evelyn Weishaar.

Louie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin W. Mayhew, who passed away September 19, 2014; mother, Cora Wilson; brothers, Clarence Wilson and Raymond Wilson; son-in-law, David Weishaar, who passed away in April of 2010.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm (CST) at the funeral home with graveside services at Riverside Cemetery in Brook, Indiana on Wednesday, August 31st at 11:00am (CST).
