Richard “Dick” Allen Antcliff, 83, of Brook, passed away in Indianapolis on May 15, 2023 after suffering a brain hemorrhage following a day filled with doing what he loves, working outside. He was surrounded by his wife of 56 years, Joyce, and their children as he fought hard to recover and return to the farm where he was born and he and Joyce raised their family.
Dick was born February 17, 1940 to Lloyd “Doc” and Ineta Antcliff. After serving in the United States Army, Dick returned to Brook and on March 12, 1967, married the love of his life, Joyce (Taylor), who survives him.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Brook where he was a third-generation farmer on land that was in the Antcliff family for over 100 years. He loved farming and sports. Throughout his life, Dick was a coach, referee, South Newton School Board Member, member of the Pork Producers, member of the Newton County 4-H Council, and member of the Brook United Methodist Church.
He and Joyce raised three children, Kimberly (Durand) Minor, Jodi (Michael) Gordon, and Chad Antcliff, all who survive him. Their seven grandchildren, Olivia and Adelle Minor; Audrey, Lucas, and Georgia Gordon; and Claudia and Isaac Antcliff kept him busy. The grandkids loved coming back to the farm where he patiently let them join him during harvest. As the grandkids got older, their activities kept he and Joyce on the road.
