Robert James “Jim” Harrolle, Sr., 80, of Kentland passed away February 12, 2023. Jim was a loving husband and father who enjoyed chasing after his grandchildren. He retired as a well-respected leader in his trade as a Union Millwright of Local 1043. As an avid golfer, Jim earned an impressive five holes-in-one. He shared his love of the game with his children and was often found at his favorite golf course coaching and sharing his knowledge with others.
Jim also had a love for hunting and fishing. As an outdoorsman he found providing food for the dinner table through a sport he loved very rewarding. He once said, “Hunting is not for everyone, but taking the time to understand nature will make you a better hunter and give you a perspective of your place in the bigger picture.”
Jim was best known for his quick-witted humor, generous spirit, and his love of family. He is survived by his lovely wife of 34 years, Patty, three children; Tammy Smart, Robert “Rob” Harrolle, Jr., and Connie Harrolle; four stepchildren; Shelley Griffith, Michael Hafner, Erik Hafner and Heather Oliver; eleven grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
