Shawn Aaron Bakker

Shawn Aaron Bakker, 42, of Orlando, Florida passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Shawn was born on September 28, 1979, to John and Linda Bakker of Cortland, Ohio. Shawn was a 1998 graduate of Lakeview High School, Cortland, Ohio and 2004 Youngstown State University of Ohio, graduating with a degree in Finance.

Shawn married Anika Alarakhia on August 15, 2009 and together they had 2 children, Isabella and Paxton who all cherish his memory. Shawn’s greatest joy in life was raising their children. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and enduring love for family and friends. His hobbies included playing piano, drone flying, basketball, soccer, movies, fireworks, skiing, traveling, and watching rocket launches from Cape Canaveral.

Shawn is survived by his wife Anika, his children Isabella and Paxton, his parents John and Linda (Flynn) Bakker of Ohio, his sisters Jennifer Braun, Kristin Bakker both of Niles, Ohio, his brother Brandon Bakker of Raymore, Missouri and Grandmother Laura Flynn. Shawn was preceded in death by his Grandfather Ottis Flynn.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 1–2pm at the Fowler United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Fowler, Indiana followed by a graveside service from 2-3pm at Fowler Cemetery to bury Shawn’s cremated remains.
