Thomas L. Wilson

Thomas Lee Wilson, 87, of Brook, passed away April 2, 2023 with his family by his side.

Tom was born October 8th 1935, in Morocco to Claude and Cleo (Archibald) Wilson. Tom graduated from Brook High School in 1953.

Tom's siblings include: David Wilson, Richard Wilson, Jerry Wilson all of Brook, Judy Wollin of El Cajon, CA and Sue Brunton of Chesterton, IN

Tom married Margie Davis April 24, 1954 and had four children; Jeff (Cindy) Wilson, Steve (Kim) Wilson, Karen (Darrell) Cross and Beth (Mark) Pociejewski.

Margie passed away in August, 1975 after 21 years of marriage.  Later, Tom married Danis Heyer, August 7th, 1976. Danis had three children that Tom raised and made his own: Julie (Nathan) Epp, Norma (Steve) Humphrey, and Harry Heyer. Danis passed away November 27, 2009 after 33 years of marriage. Tom's companion, Patricia Knepp, has been with him since 2010.

Tom has 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren that he loved making breakfast for and sharing all of his secret recipes.

Tom is preceded in death by parents, Claude and Cleo, wife, Margie and wife, Danis, son, Jeff, brothers, Richard and David Wilson, sisters, Judy and Sue.

Tom was a successful businessman who started from humble beginnings. He worked for his Father driving a semi at a very young age. He then started Wilson Brothers Fertilizer with his Brother Richard. When Richard passed away Tom was joined by his sons Jeff and Steve in business.

Tom was an Elder of the First Christian Church, past president of the Brook Lions Club, a Board of Director of The Community State Bank, a member of the Indiana Free Masons, and has supported many organizations over the years.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed spending time in the north woods snowmobiling, grouse hunting, fishing, and snow skiing. He will be remembered by his generosity, faith in God, and always having a positive outlook on life.  Tom will be missed by his family, friends, and the community.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Christian Church of Brook. Visitation for the public will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5-7pm at Brook United Methodist Church, Brook, IN.  The funeral will be held privately on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at First Christian Church, Brook IN, with a private committal at Riverside Cemetery, Brook, IN.  Arrangements entrusted to Gerts, Windler & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Brook Chapel, 129 E.
